We would like to say a special thanks to
Kay Brooks for all her help, advice and encouragement as we work to get this
bill passed!
Kay Brooks' statement:
“According to the National Association of State
Boards of Education’s Commission on High School Athletics in an Era of Reform:

‘There is a growing awareness on
the part of the school and community that the inclusion of these students
(homeschoolers) serves to enhance school-community relationships.’ And further
the study recommends that state boards of education and activities associations
should ‘maintain a positive relationship with state cyber and home-school
associations in regard to athletic participation.’

I submit that a ‘positive
relationship’ includes being able to participate in the activities that their
parent-taxpayers are funding and their next door
neighbors are participating in. I strongly encourage Alabamians to continue the
progress being made across the U. S. in this regard and pass this legislation
quickly. “
